Signing your needlepoint can be a real puzzler. If you are doing a piece that has Tent Stitch on it, there are many options for signing (in the linked post, I’ve talked about them). Another option is to use labels or cards and keep them with the needlework (posts about those are here and here).
But what if you are stitching Bargello? Put a square of Tent Stitch in the corner with your initials and your eyes will go straight to it. It’s sort of like making the artist’s signature the focal point of the painting.
But the wonderful Liz Morrow has come to our rescue with her delightful free Bargello alphabet, available as a PDF.
The alphabet is everything you could want to sign Bargello. It only uses straight stitches, it small (seven threads high), and has a charming blocky look that will look wonderful for initials.
