With a bit of variegated thread and DMC’s Memory Wire, you can stitch up this adorable pumpkin pin in a day.
Instead of using Aida and Half-cross Stitch, use interlock canvas (the edges will be cleaner) and Continental. I would also run a line of Fray Chek along the outside edge after you have finished stitchin and before you add the twisted Memory Wire trim.

If you like this idea why not expand it to other items and holidays? How about a leaf in fall colors (make the veins in Memory Wire)? Or a Christmas Tree with sequins for ornaments and a Memory Wire Garland? Or a fancy heart?
To make these just find an outline you like and change it to be the size of your pin. Trace it onto Interlock, stitch in a variegated thread and add the Memory Wire.
Fast, fun project.
