One of Leigh Designs’ newest series is her Seashore Santas. These guys are depicted with various treasures of the sea. Many of the canvases have stitch guides done by great stitchers.
As is the case with most canvases the background for the Santas is unpainted canvas. Instead of using this as an excuse to just stick in any old stitch for the background, many of the guide writers took this as an opportunity to put the figures in context — at the sea’s edge.
It’s fascinating to see how different stitchers solved this problem and to get ideas for our own stitching.
