Since thinking has been hard & energy has been low these past few weeks, I’ve been mostly stitching on stash projects. That’s been really nice.
One project has been a Melissa Shirley candy cane, pictured above. It was from a club and mostly kitted. Unhappily although I had a color picture I didn’t have instructions. The background is stitched in Woven Plait using Trebizond. The petals were big sequins attached with beads in the picture. Instead I used various white metallics and T Stitch because I really liked the green centers, which are also metallic.
I’m just starting a new Winnetka Stitchery Christmas tree. I got a wooden tree with tiny wooden ornaments at Daiso before Christmas. I’m going to stitch the tree in clumping with two colors of Watercolours. Then I’ll attach the ornaments. I plan on using gold micro-ice chenille for the garland & red bugle beads for candles. I’m just starting it.
Instead of starting something new, I got out this piece and have finished it. Now I can get it framed and hung in my office.
