I injured my ribcage the Saturday before Christmas which has put me on short workdays all week. The good thing about this is that I have plenty of time for stitching. I’ve made great progress on the things from my stash that are in progress.
Since last week, I’ve:
- finished the Hawaiian quilt
- finished the border for the poppy to put in the box
- started 11 Candles Glowing – I’ve stitched the gold candlesticks and pink candles
- started a Melissa Shirley candy cane
The candy cane is 938K. I bought it as a kit from Fireside Stitchery about a year ago. It has beads for the flower centers and large flat sequins for the flowers. The red will be stitched in Trebizond, a thread I rarely use.
I’m excited because this little piece has plenty of new things for me to try. I’m hoping I’ll be able to finish it fast because I have two more candy canes to do, 938I, which has ribbonwork, and 938E, which has a new stitch and a new thread.
Since the rib problem is supposed to last another week or two I should have plenty of time to get things finished.
