As you can see I’ve made great progress with stitching my kitties. All four kitties are stitched, although I had problems finding the right colors for the Ginger Tom. The details on the snowman are completed and I think he’s a great focal point!
I had some fits and starts on the snow. My first choice of stitch, Nobuko, was too complicated to incorporate the shadows, so I switched to T Stitch. But I have had a terrible time finding a grey in my stash for the shadows. The first one I picked was too dark (you can see it on the porch floor). My second choice was so light it looked white. I plowed through my stash of wools and found very few greys. Eventually I settled on Silver Fox, a shade of Lorikeet.
I’m adding that this week and plan on working on the house. I’m hoping to have it done in a couple more weeks. Now I have to find a frame for it!

It looks great!

Hi. I recently stitched this design. I just used plain old tent stitch, Paternayan wool, and white DMC floss (for the snowman). But I don’t know what to do about finishing it. What are you going to do with yours–frame it? Is something this small frame-able?
Janet M Perry says
Yes, I’ll be framing it. I’ve seen and use regularly ready-made picture frames as small as 2″ square. Square frames can be hard to find, so I tend to stockpile 2″, 3″, and 4″ frames when I see them if I like the look.
I bought this particular frame on Amazon. But I always look at Marshall’s and Hobby Lobby when I go there for frames.
But you could also have this be the inset for a pillow, or you could turn under the edges and sew it onto the front of an existing pillow. You could also make this into a coaster.
Keep stitching,
Janet
