We all know the feeling. We buy the wonderful canvas, we pick out and buy the threads. We may even know how we’ll finish it or who will get it as a present. Next we just need to figure out how to stitch it.
Then we face another problem. Do we want to spend tens or hundreds of dollars to get a stitch guide? Or do we just stitch it all in Tent Stitch. Probably not either option. So that lovely canvas and our investment in it languish in our stash neglected.
The solution to this problem is easier (and cheaper) than you think. You just create your own stitch guide.
But how do you do that? All too often this seems like magic on the part of the writers. It’s not. You can learn how to create lovely stitch guides that reflect you: your experience, your favorites, and your ideas about the canvas.
You’ll learn all that in my special Holiday Stitch Guide Class. In this accelerated 8-week class you’ll learn what you need to know to create your own stitch guide from analyzing the canvas to picking threads, stitches, and embellishments. You’ll see my successes and my mistakes. Exclusive to this class, you’ll learn by seeing the process in action. In each lesson, we’ll use this vintage Anne Jerlow stocking as our example canvas and create the stitch guide in the class.
Because the lessons are sent to you via email as PDFs you don’t need special equipment, nor do you need to read them and complete stitching a project right then. The lessons become a permanent tool for you.
Canvas Enhancement classes can cost you nearly $1000 and they won’t teach you the skills you’ll learn in this class, for only $29. I believe strongly both that any stitcher can learn to create stitch guides and that cost should not be a barrier to learning needlepoint skills that I am providing this course at this special price.
The class begins Friday, December 1. You don’t need to buy a canvas, you don’t need to make time to work on a project during this busy season, you just need to want to learn a skill that will benefit you whenever you sit down to stitch.
