A great project to use up stash (you’ll use three threads for each pumpkin), this charming canvas from Blue Dogwood Designs is the next stitch-along project from Napa Needlepoint.
The project will explore a wonderful and easy technique, needlepoint damask, and will use many different threads. In each weekly part of the stitch guide, you will not only get instructions to stitch the next pumpkin, you’ll learn about two different threads.
There are so many wonderful things about needlepoint damask as a technique. First, it’s so simple that any stitcher can do it, even if this is your first project. Second, there is an almost infinite number of patterns, large and small, that can be done with this technique. Third, these patterns are easy for stitchers to modify. Finally, you’ll be able to put these great patterns to use them on almost any project you stitch.
You can order the canvas through me for the project. The canvases will be sent out in early December via USPS Priority Mail. If you live outside the US, you can order the canvas as well. Before shipping, you will need to pay the additional shipping costs.
I am so excited to share this wonderful project with you!
Sign-ups end November 2. The Stitch-along will begin December 15 and will run on Sundays here for 14 weeks.

Is there a picture of finished project? I’m not sure I know damask stitch.
Thank you
There is not a picture of the finished project, as each pumpkin is stitched during the stitch-along pictures will be posted.
NYou can learn more about needlepoint damask (it’s a Tent Stitch technique, not a stitch) in this post.
Keep stitching,
Janet
I purchased the pumpkin dozen canvas, but it has been increasingly hard for me to find the stitch guides. I have the first three, but have been going in circles trying to find the one for last Sunday. Is there some magic way to find these weekly guides?
I am very frustrated and am close to giving up on this project.
Nancy
They are always the Sunday blog post here at Nuts. They go up every Sunday near 7 AM pacific time. They do not always have the same title, but you can also find them under the category “Group Projects.” You can also always find them by going to the home pages and looking for the posts for Sundays or for the posts that have the new pumpkin as the picture. The fourth pumpkin is here: https://nuts-about-needlepoint.com/shining-pumpkin-in-stitch-along/
Keep stitching,
Janet
