Long after Loretta Spears’ death, stitchers, especially those who love Bargello, collect and stitch her lovely patterns. One of her most popular is Bargello Fantasy which appeared, I think, in Needlepoint News. It’s a lovely piece showcasing many Bargello patterns.
But you don’t have to seek out old magazines or search on eBay to find the pattern, you could create your own.
That’s what Scottish stitcher and blogger, The Bargellist, is doing. In her most recent post she shows you the start and tells you about her project.
To do your own, mark off a rectangle or square on your canvas. Divide it, including some curves. It’s best to use basting for this or create hard stitched lines as she did. Pick your threads and patterns and start stitching!
