My popular Needlepoint Beginner’s Forum is back! It’s bigger, better, and still the best bargain in needlepoint. New for 2018 – two stitch samplers!
In the Forum you’ll get:
- Six months of email lessons, at least two per week
- Great free beginner needlepoint projects
- Three lab sessions with painted canvases
- Forum-only discounts on products
The email lessons cover everything a beginning stitcher needs. Using my revolutionary build-a-stitch method for teaching stitches, you’ll start with what you know, Continental or Basketweave, and build on that to learn dozens of new stitches. You’ll be miles ahead of other beginners and you’ll feel confident to tackle painted canvas and charted needlepoint projects. In addition, these lessons cover threads, canvas, tools, and many other topics that will help you stitch beautifully from your very first project. You will also be able to ask questions and get them answered in bonus emails.
Plus you’ll get great beginner’s projects that will have you trying out your new skills. These projects are designed specifically for beginners, and you’ll get plenty in the forum. Because painted canvases are so popular three lab sessions will use currently available canvases to show you, step-by-step, the process to plan and stitch a canvas, including picking threads and stitches. Whether you choose to stitch the labs or not, you’ll get three complete stitch guides for these canvases.
This is so much more than you will learn in any other beginning needlepoint class — often for a higher price. Whether you want to learn new stitches, explore the world of needlepoint or gain confidence when stitching painted canvases — this is the prefect no=stress way to learn.
Members of the Forum will also be able to get exclusive discounts on my projects and books for beginners. The labs, project instructions and stitch guides are worth more than double the class price.
It’s the perfect way for you or a friend to learn needlepoint. It’s accessible, affordable, and doesn’t require special software. fast connections, or in-person attendance. I make it easy and friendly to learn this art that is creative but so easy anyone can do it! Best of all, you’ll have a permanent record that you can use throughout your stitching life.
The class begins March 1, 2018 and runs for six months. You’ll get a wealth of knowledge for only $39. To sign up, just use the button below to pay via PayPal.
If you would like to take the class, but prefer not to use PayPal, please contact me at the address below for alternatives. If you took a previous forum and would like the additional projects and lab sessions, please contact me at that address for a special offer.

Does this course stay on the net for a period of time?
The course is sent as a email attachments. It is not accessed or stored on the Internet.
Keep stitching,
Janet
How do you handle “lab sessions”?
Lab sessions will cover currently available painted canvases and will be going through the process of picking threads and stitches for them. Because stitching painted canvases is so common an important part of learning needlepoint is knowing how to do this. That way you can apply what you’ve learned and you are not dependent on a stitch guide to stitch the canvas.
Keep stitching,
Janet
I live in another state. Will the lab sessions also be covered in emails or are they “in person” sessions?
Nothing in the class is in person. The lab sessions are email.
Keep stitching,
Janet
Are the emails sent with any attachments in a “zip” type file? If so, is there any other option?
Since I’m not fond of zip files I try to avoid them. Lessons are in the emails, Projects and labs are PDFs. Stitch diagrams are JPGs. I keep an eye on what goes out so resend if I hear back that there are problems. i’ll also work with students to make sure they can see everything.
My philosophy is that the technology should not be a barrier to being in the class, so I make things as easy to use as possible.
Keep stitching,
Janet
Has the first lab session been emailed?
Thanks,
Ann
The first email lesson went out yesterday. The first project goes out in late March. The first lab is in late April.
Keep stitching,
Janet
Can you start the class later in the year?
Everything is sent via email, so it’s possible to start working on it on your schedule.
Keep stitching,
Janet
I would like to sign up. I’m in Florida for the winter and I miss going to my stitching store in NJ. I’m always looking for ways to improve my stitching and this sounds perfect for me.
Is their a “supplies list” provided prior to class start?
Not really. To practice stitches and make the projects, the materials can be of your choice. I will help individuals decide on materials if they like and some materials from me can be purchased as kits for the projects.
Each of the three optional labs has its own canvas and materials. Members of the Forum will be given the opportunity to buy the canvases and partial r complete thread kits during the Forum.
Keep stitching,
Janet
