Here’s a look at more great needlepoint products coming out at this weekend’s needlepoint market.
HSN has new glasses cases and great backgammon boards in school colors. They have also added to their line of popular tote bags made from recycled plastic. Wellesley Needlepoint will be premiering a 12 Days of Christmas series from Annie Lane. The artist has been previewing them on her Facebook page and they are adorable.
I love Eye Candy’s bright colors and modern folk art style. She has a new series of Halloween stars that include a Halloween version of her Christmas black cat star. There is also a group of Christmas canvases that include three rectangular geometric canvases that have coordinating ornaments in fun shapes. The color schemes are bright and fresh.
Raymond Crawford has a fall set of finials to go with his fall tree. New in his Christmas canvases is a great canvas of a Santa mug used as a vase with a bouquet of Christmas flowers. If you are not old enough to remember Santa mugs, these mugs and vases had Santa faces and were a Christmas version of the lady vases popular in the 1950’s. Brenda Stofft has a lovely canvas of a Victorian water pitcher on a floral background. If you like Sandra Gilmore’s style, it’s very similar.
Rebecca Wood has an amazing haunted house panel. Every window has something different and spooky in it, there are witches in front, ghosts in the sky, and even a carriage with trick or treaters in the street outside! The name is so fun — Hagwarts. The Enriched Stitch, a shop in Connecticut, has three exclusive canvases with stitch guides available the shops can order for breast cancer research events to be held in October. They include designs from Melissa Prince, Two Sisters, and VNG.
Colors of Praise has a mod series of 12″ high letters. Each is covered in Pucci-style prints. Each letter is different, but they all share a similar look and color palette, so they would look wonderful in any combination. Kate Dickerson has a new backgammon board with dandelion flowers and leaves. She also has two new American canvases that are similar to her travel designs. One is on a parchment background and has items relating to the Declaration of Independence. The other features Fourth of July themes on white.
Sundance is introducing some wonderful new Mexican tile canvases. They also have great new bead assortments that come in colorful carrying cases. I’d get one just to get the case. Purple Palm has added to their line of magnetic needle minders called “Needle Worthy.” They feature one-of-a-kind dichroic glass. Father B’s 21st Century Book of Stitches has a cult following but it has not been reprinted or updated since his death in the early 2000’s. Suzanne Howren (of Stitces for Effect) has revised the book. Initial copies will be available at this market. It’s distribited by Rainbow Gallery.
Kreinik has a lovely new metallic color, Celadon, a soft green. Sullivans has 35 new floss colors. &more is now distributing Madiera silk threads. Beth Gantz has new self-finishing ornament frames, both round and square. The come with 3- or 4-inch openings and are in a variety of colors. Accoutrement Designs has some new Halloween-themed magnets.
Treenway Silks has an intriguing set of new colors called 65 Roses. The colors are inspired by actual roses and are all limited editions. The name comes from what young children with Cystic Fibrosis call their disease. The company donates a minimum 10% of 65 Roses® sales to the Cystic Fibrosis Foudation, in honor of Andrea’s Angels, to help find a cure. Thread Gatherer has a new thread, Aurora, that is a blend of silk and mohair with a nylon sparkle strand. It comes in 15-yard skeins.
Labors of Love has some gorgeous painterly beach canvases, including one with a hermit crab. These will coordinate beautifully with their popular baby sea turtle canvas and can use some of the same techniques. One of &more’s artists, SE Haragan, has a great black and gold fish. The model has a wonderful background that makes it look as if it is really swimming. Dream House has some great new Mardi Gras canvases including a crown in an oval on a striped background. Julia’s Needleworks has a new group of ten Santas from JHL that are new for the show.
Kangaroo Paw has American Flag ornaments in the shape of each of the states. The also have new fraternity and sorority canvases for Planet Earth’s self-finishing cases and tags. Point2Pointe has added to their Apple Watch band line with collegiate bands. Decorations has a new series of three Mardi Gras masks. Victoria Whitson has a new accessory called a Project Fob. These leather tassels have a threader and thread cutter on them. CBK has added lots of new designs, including an oval ornament with a pair of otters, a lobster tray, and three dogs with sunglasses and surfboards.
