The flower’s central petal is stitched with the second-darkest color of the pink or blue Silk Lame. It’s stitched in a delightful stitch from Julia Snyder, Rough Mosaic, below. The stitch has alternating rows of Mosaic and inside-out Mosaics. It’s diagrammed in two colors to make the rows easier to see.
Be careful when making this stitch; the rows are slightly oblique! I found it easiest to stitch row by row, keeping the diagram close by.
