The TNNA Winter Market ends today. Many companies have brought out great new products for the show. Because this show allowed sales, your shop may be bringing some of these canvases, as well as other great stuff, back with them.
Kirk and Bradley has new travel rounds, including one for Mexico and one for Sydney Australia. They also have some adorable round Christmas ornaments, including a reindeer in a Scandinavian sweater. Alice Peterson has lots of new Judaic canvases including several hamsa hands and rectangular designs with stars of David and Jewish symbols. They are quite lovely. She also has several liquor bottle and sayings canvases.
Rebecca Wood has tons of great new stocking cuffs with themes from a snowman family to her silly reindeer, available in 13 and 18 mesh. A new series of rounds features characters from The Nutcracker ballet. She also has a delightful new series of village shops. The shops, including a Sweet Shop and a Bakery among others, are accompanied by several houses. You can get them as individual round ornaments or as stockings. Her monthly bird rounds from last winter are now available as small pillows with decorative borders around the birds. There are new cowboy and Easter canvases as well.
Trubbey Designs has new country-themed Christmas rounds. The designs have the flag as a banner in the background with iconic images of the country in front. There’s a beer stein for Germany and the Great Wall for China for example. The designer also has some new dolls with porcelain heads and multiple pieces to stitch.
Planet Earth has introduced a dozen new colors of Pepper Pot including two creams, three yellows and two pinks. They have also extended their line of self-finishing leather items with a lady’s credit card case in four colors, a rectangular luggage tag in three colors and lovely cork-backed coasters available in four colors with a 3″ square opening.
Rachel Donley has some great new designs. My favorites are the bold single letters decorated like cookies. These could be a great centerpiece for a Christmas pillow. By themselves they could be large ornaments or coasters. I just love one of the new canvases by A Poore Girl Paints. It says “Chaos Coordinator.” That pretty much describes me most days. I just love a Machelle Somerville canvas for the holidays. Inside a lovely and delicate pine border is the saying “Light Candles, Shake Gift Boxes, Hang Mistletoe.”
Penny Macleod has new ladies, florals, an geometrics, including an exuberant brick cover. I don’t know who the designer is, but I saw and adorable set of six snowcones. The crushed ice is a snowman’s face and they are sitting in red paper cones. The finishing, which included short straw really sold the idea. Melissa Shirley has a new canvas that rides the bookcase needlepoint idea. This one is Halloween books (not the titles of real books) and the bookshelf is accented with a cobweb and a skull.
Melissa Prince has added new movie coasters, including Shakespeare in Love, and new travel coasters. She has also extended her line of mid-century modern animals with a stocking featuring several animals, a round with bears and a new pillow with a dog and some cats. She also has a new winter wreath with a pair of cedar waxwings and traditional Christmas fruits like oranges and pomegranates.
Princess & Me has new ornaments for bowlers and gymnasts. But my favorite from them is a lamb with a sweater and a ball of yarn at its feet. The stitch guide for this is just too cute. Because the guides come with the design, it’s a great combination. Another new design has Santa with a beard made of buttons — a fantastic idea! There are also new Mah Jong tile and tooth fairy ornaments in their line.
Kate Dickerson has several new coaster sets designed to fit into the Planet Earth coasters. Not only do several sets feature her geometric patterns, she also has shells, butterflies, and golf sets. She also has several designs for the small Planet Earth credit card cases as well as lovely new damask patchwork pillows. Sew Much Fun has new gift tags, over mitts and a wonderful holiday cocktail design.
There will be more coverage of new products on Thursday as well on both Monday and Wednesday next week. There is so much great needlepoint to see and stitch!
