Even though these companies may not have had booths at TNNA, there’s still lots of great needlepoint canvases to enjoy.
Snail’s Tail is a charming quilt block. Laura Perin has brought back her charted version of it in an “Amish” color palette of blues and violets. DebBee’s Designs has added a second design to her seasonal tray series. Lovey Dovey is in pastel pink and lavender, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Julia’s Needleworks has a bunch of lovely new stocking cuffs including a nativity and a lovely set of angel’s wings. There’s also a set of Wizard of Oz nutcrackers and an amazing koi in the style of Shorebird Studio. Peter Ashe’s two delightful San Francisco Christmas stockings are now back in production. Because Peter lived in The City for many years, his style is almost iconic for SF needlepoint.
Ruth Schmuff has a great new series of dogs in a cubist-inspired style. She also has new fairies, some new place pillows, and a wonderful canvas inspired by a Maurice Sendak drawing. Blue Dogwood Designs has added a lovely multi-colored leaf design to their canvases. They also have new sachets and a lovely Poinsettia that would be a magnificent showcase for different stitches.
Dragon’s Tale has a delightful series of silhouette portraits of dogs and cats. There are 11 dogs and two cats, all in old-fashioned borders, mostly in black and white, some with colored borders. She also has a 3-D Shih Tzu, and a new Yorkie beanbag.
