My cupcake club is new for this year, each month will have a different cupcake, all ornament-sized. Each project will explore something new in needlepoint, with how the little gems are decorated. I have been looking at embellishments, looking at cake decorating items, and drooling over beautiful cakes to get ready for the club. It’s worse than being on a diet!
The cakes will each feature a different stitch, stitches you can put to work in your current projects! Plus their will be optional background stitches in each project, suitable if you want to frame your work or finish it into a box or bag.
The cupcake pictured here is January’s pictured in progress. The cakes are inspired by the custom ones from Miss Whisk Bakery and their inventive designs. This one is called “I’m drinking stars!” and is based on a cake common in the Bay Area called a Pink Champagne cake.
Here are some, but not all, of the things we’ll explore this year:
- February – sweetheart cake featuring Bargello
- March – shamrock cake featuring Blackwork
- May – Mother’s Day basket cake adorned with flowers
- June – bride’s cake adorned with “lace”
- July – patriotic cake with cupcake decorations
The projects will be sent as email attachments on the tenth of each month. In the club, you’ll learn these embellishments as well as how to use other embellishments including crystals, brads, rings, charms, and more.Your needlepoint cupcakes will be delightful seasonal pieces you’ll be delighted to display.
The club is inexpensive, with additional savings if buy the entire year at once. Monthly membership is $5/month. The annual fee is $50, giving you two months for free. Do you send the outline of the cupcake each month on canvas??
No, the club price includes instructions only. The outline of the cupcake and instructions for transferring it to canvas will be in each month’s project.

When I use the pay button for the entire year pay pal doesn’t come up. Subscribe works fine.

Janet, I just paid for the cupcake class and did not see the Jan 10 deadline to register until afterwards. Can I still take the class? I may be behind, but will work to catch up quickly. If so, please send me a materials list so I can start this weekend. Thanks
