Do you find yourself needing a third hand to hold down your thread ends when you start threads?
Are you tired of your tails coming out when you just pass them through the back of the stitches when starting?
Ler me introduce you to your new best friend — the Waste Knot. Called this because they are cut off (wasted) these hold your thread securely so it’s easy to start them.
There are two kinds: in-line which is in a straight line from the current direction of your stitching, and away, which os at an angle from your stitching.
In Jen Funk-Weber’s great tutorial, you’ll learn how to make both kinds of Waste Knots.
