
While March isn’t a big month for new releases there are some great new products out there. Several companies exhibited at the recent Nashville Market.
Threads & Charts
Needle Delights brought out several new charted needlepoint projects. There is a new log cabin design is patriotic colors as well as a new entry in the smaller Holiday Delights series. Cobblestones uses a wide variety of muted colors in a sampler design. Dinky Dyes has brought out new colors in Jumbuck (silk/wool), silks and ribbons.
Treenway Silks has a thread kit for Threadles charted needlepoint design, A Tisket, A Tasket. Threadnuts is working with Foxwood Crossings on a series of three small projects that are kitted with the threads. Weeks Dye Works has four new floss colors: Santa Cruz, Oyster, Roasted Figs, and Bee’s Knees.
Canvases
The Artist’s Collection has a lovely new series of funky hearts that range from 6-7″ in length. There are six in the series. They also have added a new line to the company: Claire and James Design. Their animal canvases are both realistic and whimsical. Jean Smith has a new series of canvases, 8 in all, that are called Double Delights. The 14″ squares are on 13 mesh and have close-ups of two flowers. She also has two new bouquet canvas that are the same size. Susan Roberts has a charming pair of bunny eggs that are 4″ tall and perfect for Easter decor.
&more has added a name series to their popular sayings canvases. Designed for Christmas You can chose either red or green as the wide stripe (with white of course) between each stripe is a narrow stripe of the other color. The names are in gold. Point 2 Pointe has added mezuzahs to their line. These are stitched and attached to the doorposts of Jewish homes. They also have a new series of canvases for their cuff bracelets — team colors. The polka dot designs show off several popular color combinations.
Kangaroo Paws has added to their line of Patriotic angels with a nautical entry that would work for any sailor.They also have a simple but elegant new series of Greek rounds. These have the Greek letters against a striped background surrounded by a border of dots. Painted Pony has licensed a new artist, LoriLynn Simms. Her canvas are charming and often feature a happy lady chef.
I’m very excited about Rittenhouse Needlepoint’s new line of flowers. Each design is a pair of canvases, one for the front and one for the back. You can buy a botanically correct stem for each flower to use in finishing. Kelly Clark has added Mr. & Mrs. Claus to her Zero Degrees North collection. Voila has added several new rounds to their ornament collections. These have both tropical and traditional themes. They come in a color palette of green, pink, white, and light blue.
Julie Paukert has a charming new Autumn door in a Nantucket shingle house. Pepperberry has a delightful set of Easter animals, mostly bunnies and chicks that can be finished on sticks and displayed in their new Easter basket canvas.
Everything Else
Puffin & Co has a charming series of circus themed magnets. The Meredith Collection has an absolutely adorable new series of magnets that have sayings on them. Called Chatter Buddies there are 20 designs currently with more planned.
