One of the things that’s changed in my years of covering needlepoint is how often new products are released. It used to be that there was news about new products only at the time of the Markets. Now we see new products released year-round.
A big reason for this is how wholesale markets have changed. When they were order-only, shops could schedule delivery so that there were always new products coming in. Now that the shows are cash & carry there is a ton of new stuff just after the market, but not as much coming between them. The releases of new items between markets fuels our desire to see and buy new items.
Point2Pointe has added another new item — bands for the Apple watch. They come in two sizes to fit the two different sizes of watches and come in two different lengths. They canvas come with the hardware to finish them, with 18 designs in all . Joseph’s Workshop has a lovely open box designed by Suzanne Brakefield. Although it is designed to have a cross stitch bottom, it would be lovely finished with needlepoint. Gone Stitching is making a Tea box that can be finished with their canvas of a tea pot and cup. Personalization of the canvas can also be done.
Labors of Love is now the exclusive licensee for official Stich Club logos. All logos for the 80+ clubs are available for ordering from your local shop. Although Dream House Ventures closed recently, their threads (Soy Luster and Baroque Silk) and canvases are now distributed by Chris Lewis. Patricia Sone has canvases to fit the Planet Earth self-finishing coasters. One set, in blue and white, would coordinate beautifully with blue willow china.
Mill Hill’s new perforated paper kits include a series of six designs with butterflies or dragonflies in the bright colors typical of Laurel Burch designs. The company’s fall Bead & Button series is called “Country Lane,” and includes autumn scenes. They also have a new series of autumn designs that are about 3″ square and are stitched on perforated paper.
Deux Amis has a new series of nativity 4″ rounds. The five ornaments include Jesus & sheep, Mary & Jesus, Bethlehem, wisemen, and shepherds. JP Needlepoint has a lovely coral reef canvas that includes many kinds of colorful sea life, seaweed, coral, and sea anemones. It’s a colorful, striking design. Kelly Clark has four new 4.5″ rounds for the holiday.
Changing Women Designs is adding to their line of canvases adapted from Impressionist masterpieces, including designs based on paintings by Renoir, Monet, and Cassett. In the parade series by Ashley Dillon at Susan Roberts, there is an adorable rabbit band with lots of playful bunnies marching in a spring landscape.

what is/are perforated paper?
Janet M Perry says
Perforated paper is about card stock weight paper, maybe a bit heavier, with evenly drilled holes in it. For needlework, it functions similarly to evenweave fabric, needlepoint canvas or plastic canvas.
The big advantages to it are that you can easily cut it to match the shape of your design without additional finishing and that the projects are very lightweight.
Keep stitching,
Janet
