Today and Monday I’ll be sharing with you new needlepoint projects. Being at home has affected designers as much as it affected us. As a result, there are lots of new projects out there.
Kate Dickerson’s licensed artist Rebecca Jones has a delightful new canvas of Santa riding a tassel-bedecked — llsma! Also new this summer is a pair of preppy pink-and-green mules. This canvas has a stitch guide featured in the current issue of Needlepoint Now. Her lovely toy tree Advent calendar now has a stitch guide available. She has also added a line of Gucci-inspired canvases in different shapes to fit self-finishing items. They all feature a golden bee on a green background that has a bold red stripe.
The Meredith Collection has a baby’s first ornament in Christmas colors shaped like a gift tag. Patricia Sone has added single initials to her mini kits. Not all letters are currently available. She also has new fancy hearts, six in all, that feature small designs against geometric backgrounds. These would be a great way to increase your stitch knowledge. New canvases from Jean Smnith include a plate of peppers and a lovely blue hydrangea. Silver Needle now has travel round ornaments for all 50 states with the addition of Missouri and Utah.
Accoutrement Designs has created magnets of several of Lycette’s sayings canvases. A new canvas for Halloween from Fleur de Paris has a baby crow hatching out of a Jack o’Lantern egg or an egg proclaiming ‘Trick or Treat.” Young designer Madeline Elizabeth has a tall (23″) canvas of a giraffe munching the leaves of a tall tree. The canvas is on 13 mesh. A set of canvases from her proclaim different times of day from coffee to cocktails.
Canvas designer Gayla Elliott is now distributed by Alice Peterson Co. Two of her newest canvases are 4″ rounds asking if you are an Audrey or a Phyllis. The company has added to their line of Mah Jong canvases with a dramatic design of cranes and golden clouds on red with three tiles. A new canvas for weddings features a bridal gown and groom’s tuxedo side-by-side on hangers. The gown is a contemporary strapless style.
CBK has a vintage VW van piled with presents and full of dog from licensed artist Liora Manne called Happy Howlidays. Kristine Kingston has an elegant Christmas canvas with “silent night, holy night” in script on wide black-and-white stripes. Hingham Square Needlepoint (HSN) has a two-sided pink glasses case with rose-colored glasses on one side. Pepperberry has a delightful shaped ornament of a wagon with presents that is available in two color schemes.
Painted Pony has a snowman smowglobe from licensed artist Susan Nixoll. j child has a new two-sided glases case featuring a woodpecker on a tree trunk. Griffin Designs has a new series of ginger jars planted with palms. Kangaroo Paw has added a geometric USA heart to their line. A new canvas from Pippin has a light blue sneaker on a Matisse cut-out filled background. Also new from Pippin is nine pumpkins. Renaissance has a charming new birds and flowers canvas in a lighter version of their signsature bright colors.
