Although the second needlepoint stitch I learned was an oblique on and a Gobelin, namely Encroached Gobelin, I have not explored Oblique versions of Gobelin much. The top of this Judy Tasch package gave me a chance to see how Oblique Gobelin, below, could be used to create a simple column stitch with a gentle texture.
Because oblique stitches are neither straight nor perfectly diagonal, they can work in areas and designs that have any direction. That makes them worth more attention in my book.
Next week, I’ll complete the package series with the background for this package.
