In the past few weeks I have gotten emails telling me that napaneedlepoint.com sites are going off into blue host or weebly sites and/or returning not found messages.
It’s not true, my sites are working just fine. What’s out of date are the links in your browser.
That’s because although we treat www.xyz.com as an address, it really isn’t. It’s an easy-to-remember alias of the actual location of that server, which is a number. Even for hard-core techies, these numbers are miserable to remember.
To resolve the www address into the number address the Internet uses tables called the DNS (Domain Name Service). Think of it as a private phone book for the Internet, you look up the name and it tells you the number.
When you change the location of your computer, your ISP (service provider), or who hosts your server, your number changes and the DNS tables get updated.
Except for the fact that we are impatient creatures. The folks who write internet browsers know this and so those programs store stuff. This way they don’t have to go out to the Internet to find graphics, pages you view often, and addresses of places you’ve visited.
Most of the time this is a great thing. When you go to those odd sites it’s because your computer went looking in the wrong place for me.
The solution is simple. Clear the cache for your browser so it forgets those olld addresses.
You can also get to all my different sites through the buttons at the top of every page here on Nuts.
All my sales are now done throug my Etsy shop. You can also write to me about products or questions, I’ll help you out.

fyi–
My cache was cleared. and I’m still getting “bluehost messages.” In fact, I don’t think I’ve been to the website before.

Thanks, I’ll keep looking into it. Everything is correct from my end.
