In just over a month, needlepoint shops all over the country will dedicate a day to the art we love so much. September 20 (a Thursday) will be the first Local Needlepoint Shop Day. Shops all across the country are planning special events to share the love and artistry of needlepoint.
Many shops will have events that will extend through Saturday. Some of the events I have heard about so far include designer meet & greets, drawings, special trunk shows and unveilings of new canvases from the Dallas Needlepoint Market held the previous weekend.
You can keep track of what’s planned at your local shop on my Needlepoint News blog (http://needlepoint-news.com/) where there is a special category for Local Needlepoint Shop Day. Plus every post will also be indexed by state, shop name, and major city (if applicable).
You can also learn more about the event and get details on many of the events at http://localneedlepointshopday.com/.
Finally, if you know of an event please contact me and let me know about it.
