I finished the heart of hearts, above, and have started working on a new UFO for my car project. My old Lee ebook cover is wearing out, and not because of the needlepoint. The elastic is getting old and stretched out of shape.
I recently bought a new Lee cover and have a discontinued Alice Peterson canvas for in it. It’s a simple striped design. I thought it would fit, but of course it’s too big, so I marked the size in the margins and am only stitching part of it.
I thought the colors were a bit dull, so I brightened the burgundy to red, changed muted blue to a bright blue, and softened the tan to cream. I’ll use the same color for each stripe, but different stitches. That’s going to be a challenge for me because the widest stripe is five threads wide.
My plan is to stitch starting at one end, doing the colors other than the black. Then I’ll go and do the black.
If I’m able to work on it consistently, I should have it done in a few weeks.
Meanwhile inside the house my Sunday project is Hush Y’All. The picture above shows you where I am currently.
