CNNMoney recently reported that many schools are doing away with yearbooks as a way to save money.
That got me thinking about stitching a memory in needlepoint as a way to preserve something.
Some people stitch needlepoint postcards of scenic places, some buy ornaments in painted canvases for places visited.
And, pictured here, is a FANTASTIC idea to stitch a memory. It was posted recently on the Tapestry Fair blog by my friend Peggi. This woman combined Bargello with her father’s ties to make this charming & unique pillow. REad more about it on Peggi’s post.
Do you create needlepoint memories? And what’s the favorite one you’ve done?

Hi Janet – Got several requests for this pillow, so I’m in the process of doing a line drawn layout and stitch guide for this piece – luckily I had saved the notes when designing it! Should be ready in a week or two. I know you love Bargello, and this pillow has room for eight different patterns.
