Like the button collage you see here?
It’s one of nine methods for adding texture to quilts recently done by an Alaskan Quilter on her blog Cold Feet Quilter. Her plan was to put together in mini-quilts different methods for creating texture.
They range from the button collage to adding dyed and scrunched up chiffon on top.
One of the things I’ve been thinking about alot is how to get a different, less stitchy, and more dimensional look into our needlepoint. And one that doesn’t require sharp needles (I’m afraid of them) or beading (I don’t like it).
So I’m excited by these possibilities.
Take a look and let them fire your imagination. Look for some of these techniques to be included in the new Cupcake Club starting in January. It’s $50 for the year. Learn more & sign up here.
Thanks to Denise from Craft Gossip for pointing this out.
