I must admit that I’m middle-of-the-road about the back of my embroidery. I’m not the permissive sort who says that the backs don’t matter and will stitch any old way. I’ve have seen too many projects look not as good as they could when this approach is used. But then again I am not so conservative that I fuss about the direction of my waste knot, never let threads travel or any of the myriad of rules.
In fact I’m like Needle n’Thread’s Mary Corbet in this. In a recent article she talks about backs and gives outstanding advance on when and what to follow and ignore.
