
As an early Valentine’s present, here’s a free stitch guide to a charming vintage canvas from Associated Talents. It uses metallics to showcase the small hearts and make them stand out from the gingham background.

1 skein each Planet Earth Silk
PE-097 Cloud (white)
PE-015 Love (light pink)
PE-017 Romance (pink)
1 spool Kreinik 1/16” ribbon 100HL (white)
1 spool each Kreinik tapestry (#12) metallic
007L (pink)
003L (red)
1 vial Sundance size 11 seed beads 250 (white)
Striped Heart
Stitch the pink lines in Oblique Continental, below, using pink (007L) Tapestry (#12) metallic.

Stitch the white stripes in Reverse Diagonal Gobelin, below, using white (100HL) 1/16” metallic ribbon.

Windowpane Check Heart
Stitch the heart in Framed Mosaic, below, using metallic, white (100HL) 1/16” ribbon for the frame and pink (007L)Tapestry (#12) for the Mosaics.

Dotted Heart
Stitch the heart in Criss-cross Hungarian, below, using red (003L) Tapestry (#12) metallic. On the open intersections add white (250) seed beads.

Background
Stitch the background in Gingham Scotch, below, using the three colors of Planet Earth Silk. Every other Scotch will be light pink (PE-015). The remaining blocks will alternate between white (PE-097) and pink (PE-017), as shown on the canvas.
