
This delightful insert from Evergreen Needlepoint for their can cozy uses only a few stitches to make a delightful design, perfect for summer drinks. It can be stitched quickly, and you can easily finish it yourself.

- Watermelon insert from Evergreen Needlepoint
- DMC floss in 907 (lime)
- DMC floss in 701 (green)
- Grandeur in G883 (pale pink)
- Silk lame in SL26 (pink)
- Silk Lame in SL109 (hot pink)
- DMC Etoile in C600 (dark pink)
- DMC floss in 310 (black)
Step-by-step Instructions
Rind
Stitch the lighter green areas in the rind in Tent Stitch using four strands of lime floss.
Stitch the darker green areas of the rind in Needlepoint Cross Stitch, below, using three strands of green floss.

Stitch the light pink part of the rind in Diagonal Gobelin, below, using pale pink Grandeur.

Flesh
Stitch the flesh in Woven Plait, below, using Silk Lame or four strands of Etoile. Begin at the bottom with pink Silk Lame and stitch that section. Once a section is complete, stitch the next section, keeping the stitch pattern the same.

At the top of each section, some of the stitches will need to be split between two colors; this is correct.
Seeds
Once the flesh is stitched, stitch the seeds in Tent Stitch using four strands of black floss.
