The new Stitch of the Month site is slowly taking form. It will be premiering in March sometime. I want it to be a site that isn’t just a stitch reference, but that also reflects us as a community of needlepointers.
The first step is to make our initial list of stitches. So that we get a critical mass of stitches, I plan to put up one every two weeks for at least the first year. And that’s where I need your help. Please put into the comments section the top ten stitches you consider to be essential for a needlepointer to know. These might not be your favorites but they should be the ones great for beginners. All I ask is that you do not include Basketweave or Continental on your list, consider them to be there already.
Put your choices in the Comments section. I’m going to make a Master List and put up stitches based on that.
This won’t be the only way to join in. Samplers for the year’s will come from the community. There will be opportunities to ask and answer questions. And I’ll be asking for new stitch ideas from time to time. I’m also planning a quarterly mailing for those who participate of canvas and threads for trying out the stitches.
If you have other ideas for how the site can grow, add them into the comments as well. Together we’ll make this great!
