Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, blog posts, and even my email are full to overflowing with information about great new products. With the Winter TNNA Market starting Saturday, that flow will soon become a flood. Today I’m going to highlight new painted canvases by many different designers.
One of the best ideas I have seen in ages comes from Laurel Wheeler (buy direct on-line). She has a new series she calls Keepsake Gift Cards. The idea is to stitch these small canvases as part of a gift. They are 3″ x 5″ on 13 count and 2-1/2″ x 4″ on 18 count and can be done in colors of your choice. They have simple sayings with borders. They will stitch up quickly and can be put into ready-made frames. How’s that for a very special gift?
Eye Candy has a ton of great new canvases. There are three new heart canvases, two with several hearts in different patterns. There are also new spring canvases, including a set of lovely coasters. There are new canvases with Christmas trees in various colors and patterns with letters spelling out seasonal words, including one in blues for Hanukkah. Finally there are some charming Easter canvases.
In one of my earlier posts this month highlighting new products I mentioned the five glasses canvas from Pippin. Using the same spectacles, they also have five new eyeglass cases, each with a different patterned background. My favorite is the one with the eye chart background. There are also two new Nines out of charming grey-brown bunnies and of sail boats. There are Smalls, the canvases of a single kiitem of both, along with other new Smalls.
Ruth Schmuff has new canvases from Sandra Vaegas, many with a Halloween theme. She promises there will be more coming soon. Tapestry Fair has shown some of their newest canvases on their blog. These include a wonderful new Sugar Skull cat (I want it!), an adorable red fox, and a lovely angel in the style of Ann Speiss Mills.
Valerie Needlepoint Gallery is the wholesale division owned by Suzy Vallerie, the owner of The Enriched Stitch. VNG includes several designers including Amanda Lawford and Scott Partridge. There are new canvases by several of the designers. I just love the classic penguin and baby from Scott Partridge. I also love the shark in a Santa hat with the legend “Santa Jaws.” It would make a great canvas for a boy or man. There is also a wonderful black cat in a large hat from Fab Funky.
Associated Talents is celebrating Easter with tons of new patterned Easter eggs, several that match their round Christmas ornaments. They also have an Easter sayings canvas with the striped bottom, similar to the ones for other holidays. Denise DeRusha has a new postcard for Hong Kong and a wonderful patriotic apple. Danji has an adorable set of bird ornaments as well as a great canvas with four snow-covered birdhouses in Christmas colors.
JulieMar has some lovely new landscapes. Maggie has new simple contemporary design from Stephanie Stouffer. Melissa Shirley has new hearts with flowers in the center, as well as a great series of Easter canvases featuring animals. Zecca has some colorful and amazingly silly birds, an ostrich, I think, and an owl. Finally A Poore Girl Paints has a great new design for dog or cat lovers. In her signature script it says “What part of Meow (Woof) don’t you understand.”
Remember I do not include links in my new product postings. That’s because many designers do not have the new products on their sites yet. Rather than send you on a fruitless search, I try to be fair to all designers.
Watch for more new product posts at least through next week.
