Pinnell Custom Leather, who is well-known for making belts, also has a lovely leather tray with Bamboo handles that’s a very elegant choice for finishing square canvases. DJ Designs has a great series of geometric designs on 13-mesh canvas that feature clean, colorful designs. This designer also has canvases inspired by Berlinwork charts. If these timeless designs speak to you but you find the charts hard to follow, these canvases are a perfect solution.
The Artist’s Collection has added a delightful series of snow men, snow ladies, and adorable snow birds. All are dressed for wintry weather. Kreinik has introduced two new colors of Micro Ice Chenille, red and green. Rainbow Gallery has added some new stitching tools to their product mix. They are from England and have lovely embossed metal handles.
Shelly Tribbey has added a third snowman to that series of mini-skates. He’s carrying a wreath and a stack of presents. Ann Rigotti-Clark has added two new sayings, on cat and dog hair, to her line for Winnetka Stitchery. Love You More has a couple of new cat canvases. Prince Duncan-Williams, a designer for JulieMar has a colorful design of a kitten’s face.
Kelly Clark has a dozen new Easter eggs featuring seasonal animals and plants. My favorite one has a bunch of daffodils on an aqua background. JP Needlepoint has a great 3-layer cake called “Sweet Land of Liberty.” The red-white, and blue design has a striped background, a checked border, and an American flag. It is available on 13 or 18 mesh.
Do you like oysters? The Point of It All has a wonderful 10″ square canvas of three oysters in a close-up almost pop art style. Art of Sunshine, from The Artist’s Collection, has a series of 4″ square canvas of root and vine veggies. There will be 12 in the series. The four root veggies I saw have wonderful striped soil.
Garibaldi’s Needleworks has added pearl cotton in 3, 5, 8, and 12 as well as 6-strand floss. Pepperberry has an adorable picture of a Passover House. It’s in lovely spring colors and you can see the set table through the window. My favorite touch is the sweet lamb grazing in the front yard.
The newest series of Mill Hill kits is an eclectic group that includes flowers and seahorses. They also have a new series of Zodiac signs done on perforated paper. These projects are 2.5″x3″ and are in shades of the same color, a feeling like certain Arts & Crafts tiles. There is also a new series called Spring Bouquet that includes a cheeseburger and a beach bucket in the series of six designs.
Alice Peterson has some great new girly canvases including one of a girl in a short Santa skirt with arms full of presents. Decorations has new canvases reflecting needlepoint versions of Ikat. There are several different canvases for items including glasses cases and handbags. Kangaroo Paw has belt designs for sororities and fraternities in their official colors.
Deux Amis has a new baby sleeping canvas available in two sizes, for a door hanger or a nursery pillow. It’s available in pink or blue. Susan Roberts has several new stockings, including one of her popular nativity scene. Straw Silk will be adding four new colors including a bright blue and a lovely pink.
