Have you ever tried to do a new stitch & found yourself utterly confused? I know I have.
My first step is to try to figure it out on my own. My second step is to follow the numbering on the diagram, if present.
This doesn’t always help.
Coming to our aid is the growing selection of animated stitch diagrams available at Stitch Guild (https://stitchguild.com/).
You can search the collection in alphabetical order, or by category, difficulty, speed, coverage, or compensation.
You can check just the newest stitches and even create a collection of your favorites.
This is one of the best stitch reference sites out there.

Janet, I’ve tried to get Stitch Guild to load both through your site and by going to it directly. Is there a secret??? 🙂
Janet M Perry says
I had no problem at all. The home page is rather minimal, it almost looks like one of those placeholder sites.
Keep Stitching,
Janet

Janet: The stitch guild sounds like a great idea, but I couldn’t get it to download on my computer. When I pulled it up on Google, it connected me to Amazon and it appears to be an app for an android.??????????????

Hello! I don’t know if it helps Judy, but I couldn’t get stitchguild.com to work in Firefox. I had to switch to Chrome where it worked just fine. And/or it may also depend on what version of Windows is installed. The app, for me, worked in Chrome on Vista and Windows 8.1 just fine. Good luck!
Also, thanks for the resource Janet! Am trying the Five Color Cross now.

I don’t know why this site isn’t working for some people. I had no problem loading it using an old version of Safari on a Mac running OS X 10.6. I have not tried it on other computers or browsers.
