It’s in German, so you will need to use Google Translate, but here are instructions on how to stitch on Pegboard.
If you don’t like the brown of pegboard, paint it first and let it dry completely.
Remember the holes are drilled about an inch apart so you will need to use thick yarn and Cross Stitch to get good coverage.

You could also use wire or plastic tubing! Would make great yard art.
