If you’re looking for compact, affordable storage for your needlepoint stuff, look at this delightful tray set from Chic-a. This set of three oilcloth trays in graduated sizes is about the price of one of those higher-priced trays.
The trays are made with a colorful oilcloth exterior and an interior made of sturdy nylon in a solid color.
The trays have strong snaps at each corner and lay flat for compact storage. Just snap the corners, which requires little hand-strength, and you are ready to go. Unlike some trays I’ve tried, the bottoms of these trays are hard, making them a secure surface. The hard lining is kept in place by sewing all around.
A bit over one inch high, the sides are soft but sturdy. They stay in place and don’t collapse, which is a problem with other trays.
The trays in this set are 3″, 4″, and 5″ inches. The smallest one has a magnet hidden under the label, perfect for corralling pins, needles, and tacks. You can also buy the trays singly.
Although designed for crafts, these trays make useful storage almost anyplace. I’m using one as my tool holder for my stitching in our garage. The largest sits on my desk to keep track of smaller items.
These are great and would make a charming gift.
Chic-a is a company that makes a huge variety of organizing items for stitchers and knitters in oilcloth. I’m looking forward to trying more of their products.
