Today’s stripe uses Hungarian Ground, below, a very old variation of Hungarian Stitch. In it, individual Hungarian Stitches are separated by zig-zag lines of Straight Stitches.
If you wanted to make the Hungarians stand out slightly, make them of horizontal stitches instead of vertical ones.
They would stand out more if they were stitched in a different color.
This stripe was stitched in a dark skein of Emerald Watercolours.
