Are you looking for ways to add texture to your needlepoint just by using the stitches you already know?
Then you’ll love the next patch in the Log Cabin Sampler, the fourth accent color patch. The stitch is Scottish Checker, below. It replaces every other Scotch Stitch with Tent Stitches. This one uses your basic Scotch Stitch, made over 3 threads, but you could make a version of this with ANY Scotch Stitch variation that didn’t have bunches of Tent Stitches. For example, Shadow or Arrowhead Scotch wouldn’t work very well because their areas of Tent would dilute the pattern.
