Lately I have been culling my magnetic needleminder collection and making some ones from the stuff I have collected. I just came upon these adorable hashtag magnets on the blog Moms & Crafters.
They are made with square wooden beads glued together.
The tutorial (link above) uses them as fridge magnets, but just add a second magnet the same size to the back to turn them into needleminders.
The beads used are inexpensive wooden beads, but you could use any bead that is a cube.
Because there is an open space in the middle of these, the magnet will show. If you want the magnet covered, pick a different shape that is solid.
Thanks to the folks at Craft Gossip for pointing this out!
