Needlework was immensely popular as a pastime through most of the 19th and early 20th Centuries. But often we overlook publications from that time as a source of needlepoint ideas.
OnMary Corbet’s Needle n’Thread blog, she has an article about resources for finding old designs and patterns. Much of what is available is for embroidery on cloth, but you can find outlines that will work for needlepoint, charted alphabets, and sometimes even a needlepoint project.
