In a recent post we talked about how to stitch four-way Bargello. The best place to start is to find the line in one quadrant and stitch it. That’s one of the things I love about this piece from The Bargellist — it’s so easy to see the line.
Another thing I love is the center. It isn’t Bargello at all but a pattern called Octomino. Don’t you love the way the Bargello creates a lovely and unexpected frame.
Learn all about it in The Bargellist’s post.

Wow this is gorgeous. Where do you to start the pattern?
I don’t know where the stitcher started butI would stitch it this way.
1. Draw the diagonals & find the center.
2. Stitch the center ornament.
3. Decide how far out you want the outside colored round of Bargello to be and how many colored rounds you want.
4. Stitch one quadrant of the outside round, then rotate the canvas to stitch the other three sides.
5. Stitch out to the outside, round by round, then in to the center ornament. Do not forget the other colored rows.
Keep stitching,
Janet
Thank you. You always get back to me so quickly, and I really appreciate it!
