Because the Spring Needlepoint Show had to be postponed, many designers are showing their newest canvases online. Nuts about Needlepoint is committed to letting you know about them. Most shops will be able to order these canvases for you.
I do not post either links or pictures in these columns because my information comes from many different sources. Your best bet to see pictures is to go to the designer’s site.
Eye Candy has six absolutely delightful mini canvases sized to fit Planet Earth boxes. The squares include two hearts and three geometrics. The 4″ round is a glamorous black cat. The geometrics are smaller sizes of three of her larger designs. Taestry Fair has a stunning new stocking of the nativity from Dominic Borbeau. There is also a wonderful new masked animal, a rabbit, as well a several other great designs from their licensed artists.
Lani has lovely new Christmas rounds and stars, with four rounds and five stars, some in coordinated designs. There are three canvases with realistic flowers against white fans. She also has five wonderful and elegant canvases of lady. Her new college canvases include two bees and six wonderful floral collages. Finally, she also has two mushroom collages and a fruit collage.
JulieMar has two new great bird canvases with either a blue heron or a flamingo on black. Another bird canvas is a magnificent Africam Crowned Crane in profile. The company has new Hamsa designs. There are also new designs from many of their licensed artists, My favorite canvas though says, most appropriately “If you are going through Hell keep going.” Sounds like a plan. New canvases from Penny McLeod include two fun Christmas tree squares and one of her signature ladies in Christmas colors.
Kelly Clark has adorable Easter eggs with baby animals. Choose from ones with hats, full figures, and diorama eggs. Most unusual is a goat in an Easter Bonnet. She also has new nutcrackers, birdhouses, pumpkins, and acorns. She also has new figures of Noah an Noah’s wife. Silver Needle’s travel rounds has added rounds for North and South Dakota. Purple Palm has added two new artist Ryan Connors and Stitching Littles.
Abigail Cecile has charming rounds for Christmas, three with Santa and six with animals. There are also coordinating stocking cuffs. Cooper Oaks has two new game boards (backgammon and Parcheesi) in primitive country colors. They also have four new Susan Wallace Barnes canvases, including great one of a London phone booth at the seaside. The company also has some great new fishing canvases.
Associated Talents has added new animal pull-toy canvases, including a wonderful llama. They also have 4″ rounds to fit in Planet Earth cases. They include geometrics, a blue-and-white Chinese design, and a dragonfly. Rachel Donley has new Cheers! canvases with three designs to fit into the Planet Earth clutch. Kirk & Bradley has significantly expanded their travel rounds with new destinations and a ne series featuring famous gardens. There is a series of ski & snow rustic designs (think old fashioned snow shoes, etc.). There are three new bee skep squares and a new series of ornaments in traditional colors.
A new designer to me, Hello Tess, has several simple sayings rounds, plus a great decorated skull, and southwestern birds in two colors. She also has more Southwestern-themed ornaments and a crystal with the saying “You Rock.”
