A new canvas from Madeline Elizabeth reads “shore” in letters made of beachy things. I also love a star canvas that reads “When you wish upon a starfish.” Jean Smith has great 14″ squares of fruits and veggies evoking Farmer’s Markets. I love the one of colorful Autumn gourds as well as one of pumpkins. The Point of It All has adorable small 3-D houses inspired by The 12 Days of Christmas. These would be so cute as a village under the tree! They also have two canvases that are a Mr. & Mrs. Santa mermaid.
Carol Curtis has a big colorful canvas of flowers, butterflies, and a frog. It’s available in both 13 and 18 mesh. She also has a fun canvas of a turtle. The shell is stitched using a random splash pattern. It’s designed to be a stash-buster canvas and is on 13 mesh. Ginny Diezel, licensed by CBK, has charming new animals, including a panda and a koala. Pepperberry has debuted new snowman rounds, including one with a bowl of soft serve. They also have new colors of Santa hats, including red-and-green stripes.
One of Pippin’s new stocking cuffs has tons of small hearts (I counted about 30) on a bright green background. Other ones feature lots of pine trees, each topped with a star, or baubles. PLD has a fun new canvas of a guy sleeping in a chair on the beach who is now having the tide coming in. It’s so funny, partly because his dog is in water almost up to his head. Soon he’ll be paddling. Another new canvas from PLD is a round with the word Joy on a gingham background. It’s one of five new ones designed by Diana Swartz. The others are Gingham Noel and three new dachshunds.
New from Alice Peterson is a canvas with a Kawaii solar system. Gayla Elliot has new stitching ladies and a wonderful new blue-and-white ginger jar on a table. She also has a canvas that is a portrait of fashion icon Iris Apfel. A great fall canvas from Alice Peterson features fifteen patterned pumpkins in rows on an 8″ square canvas. A beautiful Tree of Life from the company looks as if it is a stained glass window. Other new canvases from the company include an A-frame winter chalet, a line-up of mascara and lipsticks, and a charming stocking that has a pyramid of animals.
Abigail Cecile has a lovely new nativity in lavender. It is a nine-piece set with a three-panel backdrop. A separate coordinating ornament of the Holy Family is sold separately. A new canvas from Painted Pony is Mary Engelbreit’s portrait of a boy and his dog. Voila has a new line of 4″ square canvases — petpoint. These 13-mesh canvases can be customized with your pet’s name. A new series of perforated paper kits from Mill Hill is hearts with an image on one side and a message on the other. A new artist for The Meredith Collection is Adam Trest. His canvases include a folk-art Santa, two woodland scenes, and a lovely ginger jar. *
Strictly Christmas has a new patriotic Santa in their signature style. They also have a 14″ tall angel in holly-edged robes. Kangaroo Paw has a new plaid inserts that are 3″ square. Add an initial to make a great present. They have also added a new size to the sorority aspirin rounds — 5″. They suggest appliqueing these to the back of a denim jacket. If you do this be sure to use colorfast, machine-washable threads. A new Liz Goodrick-Dillon stocking from Susan Roberts has an angel above the stable where Mary, Joseph, and Jesus are found.
In the world of useful accessories, EmmaSews has created both larger and mini sizes of their popular Stash ‘n Store organizer. Yarn Tree has new acrylic stands that you can slip into a pocket on the back of your stitching to create an instant stand-up. They come in two sizes, 2″ and 4″. Beau Verre has new fused glass needle minders with winter and Christmas themes. Needlework System 4 is now making hand-held scroll frames.
EmmaCreation carries Japanese threads and embroidery supplies. These include solid and multi-color threads and flosses in silk and cotton. They also carry purse handles of various kinds and a very cool twisted cord maker from Olympus. Sanjou has come out with two assortments of metallic threads. They are thin but multiple strands can be used. Mill Hill has added six colors of glow-in-the-dark beads. These are size 11.
