Begin by sorting your thread ends by color. This will make your resulting threads more useful. Tie the ends together to make long strings of the ends. If you like, leave the ends beyond the knots to become tufts.
The resulting thread can be couched into your needlepoint. Because of the knots, you can’t stitch with them
