I’ve got more news about new products being introduced this month.
Maryfrances Carter is a ceramic artist. Her botanical designs featuring centers of forget-me-nots or camellias in pretty borders are available as needlepoint. Both designs are blue or green and white with pretty borders. She also has an adorable needle minder that is a 3-D bow, made in porcelain. Two adorable new canvases from Eye Candy are a stack of presents, accented with ornaments and birds. She also has a companion funky pumpkin, this one decorated with flowers on top.
Oasis Needlepoint has lots of new canvases in a more painterly style. For children, there is a charming canvas of a fairy and a frog. There is another canvas of an elegant modern flower arrangement in colors for Christmas. A striking canvas is called “African Glamour” and features two women in richly patterned dresses with plenty of other patterns on the canvas as well. It’s not in the bright colors you might expect but in a soft 90s-inspired scheme of terra cotta, dusty rose, and celadon. My favorite Oasis canvas is a long panel featuring titmouse birds sitting on berry-clad branches.
Wipstitch’s cowboy boots (I wrote about them last week) are ornament-sized. There are nine in the collection. Bradley Needlepoint is only showing a sneak of their newest canvases. From them, I can see that there will be a passport cover for Hawaii, new travel rounds, for Germany I think, a Santa Star, and a citrus-bedecked shift. Le Point has added three New Christmas Village canvases: a new pink house, a bakery and a package-filled sleigh with reindeer. All have stitch guides by Hillary Fisk available.
New canvases from Gingham Stitchery include a tobacco leaf pattern belt, a bubbling cauldron, and a two-sided dressed standing rabbit. They also have two canvases of chess kings, black or white, and a cool motorcycle canvas. Stitch Style has added five new London rounds. These come with stitch guides by Hillary Fisk or Jinny McAuliffe. My favorite of these is the Houses of Parliament from the river. It’s a scene you’ve seen in paintings and photos.
Colour Complements has a new kit out for a quilt-inspired ornament in bright green and red. Lauren Bloch has new canvases inspired by Portuguese tiles. The geometric patterns come in several colors and can be used in many ways. Raymond Crawford has ten new sports rounds, including one for Pickleball. Meredith Collection has six new very funny flamingo rounds. In these 5″ rounds the pink birds get into plenty of trouble, including using a cactus as a Christmas tree!
Kate Dickerson has five new dreidels with a chic navy blue background. Jenny Henry has a lovely new peacock feather design, available in three colors. Jenny also has a collection with NPJ. The newest canvases here are six Nordic designs available as sweaters or mini-socks. The sweaters come in 18 or 13 mesh. The socks are 13 mesh only. Penny Linn has added a new designer, Evelyn Henson. Her canvases include lots of dogs, some other clever animals, and a pyramid of champagne glasses.
Morgan Julia’s newest collection celebrates a trip West. It includes a Prickly Pear cocktail in a cactus glass, a Western landscape at sunset in three canvases, and a ski trail map. Her newest bar cart is for a birthday. Tres Chic is adding Christmas canvases to their collaboration with Deux Bijoux Bijoux. Planet Earth is adding 47 new colors to its stranded silk.
Check out my other preview column. The reunion is next weekend. Next Monday, I’ll have reports on more new products.
