The wonderful teacher and stitcher Terry Dryden has posted an entry in her blog about her new project, a Bargello Pear.
She’s created a neat palette which, while being very realistic, is also quite modern. She’s doing something interesting with Bargello, trying to make the Bargello pear look realistic. This has made the Bargello rather free-form.
I can’t wait to see the end product.

I love this concept for freeform bargello! It hadn’t previously occurred to me to use bargello to create illusions of depth in a pictorial sense (but it should have done, given the way lots of bargello patterns present a form of 3D optical illusion) – this has given me lots to think about!
