This free ornament from The Caron Collection has got to be one of my favorite free needlepoint patterns of all time.
I have made it all in a single Caron color, with a second color for the Tent Stitches and I love them all.
On Caron’s redesigned website (more about that when I get back) you can get it for yourself.
It doesn’t take long to do and looks great.

Janet,
I agree! I love that free pattern. I got it last year and I made at least a dozen of them. Some I did on Congress with Impressions, and some on 18 count canvas with Watercolors. I just am a sucker for the overdyes.
The other nice thing is that it fits in the smallest q-snap. I was flying cross country and spending a week where I had small bits of time to fill, so I could carry the q-snap and a skein of thread, and I was good to go. I got lots of comments on the plane, in the airports, and the week I spent in Georgia. I even got to finish one sitting by the very hot springs pool that FDR swam in at WarmSprings. The National Park Service filled the pool just for us–it hadn’t had water in it in years. My husband swam in the restoring waters, and I worked on my Caron ornament!
