For years I thought I was stitching French Knots. I did and still do think of the knots I make as “French Knots.” However several years ago a lady who liked to criticize and who owned the local needlepoint shop, looked at the project I had with me, turned up her nose, and said, “Those aren’t French Knots, they are Colonial Knots.”
After I finished being upset I looked at charts for both. I couldn’t, and still can’t, tell the difference. Perhaps you can.
