Karen from Nimble Needle in New Jersey was asked recently to kit this lovely Laurel Burch canvas from Danji. The design threads were no problem as you can see from the pictures in the post. But choosing a background color was a bigger concern because you could go either light or dark.
In the post you can see many of the color choices and learn what one she picjed and why.

I am amazed. I would automatically gone with the light colors, and the black is way tooooo much
but the dark brown is perfect and really sets off the horse.

I knew a needlepoint artist who did a stunning series of farm animals, all on dark brown backgrounds. it isn’t a color i would have picked but they were lovely.
Keep stitching,
Janet
