
All too often, I’m afraid, we find adorable designs that would be perfect for needlepoint ornaments except for the shape. They are square or rectangular and you want a round or oval ornament.
You may have thought, as I did, that doing this was going to be very difficult. I have avoided many canvases I loved because of this. But, thanks to the folks at Needlepoint for Fun, I have learned easy ways to create round or oval ornaments.
This illustrated step-by-step tutorial is great and the idea of making cut-outs so you can accurately place the design inside the ornament, see the picture above, is simply genius.
I have a batch of canvases for future ornaments that will really benefit from this method.
