
This week we start working on the Color through Gold patch on one of the single-patch arms. The stitch used here is Oriental. It’s a stitch that often drives me nuts when made in a single color. I can never remember how many of the small stitches to do.
By making these stitches in a second color, it’s easier to keep track of them.
Another tip for remembering how this stitch goes is that the end result looks as if the triangles overlap.
For the patch you’ll need the overdye and the #12 metallic.

Stitch the patch in Oriental Stitch using the overdye for the triangles and the metallic for the small stitches.
This stitch is easiest to do if you make a diagonal row of triangles, then fill in the gold stitches on either side.
