Aren’t these ornaments from Needlepaint adorable? They have taken their popular 12 Days series from last year and made them ornament-sized. They are on 18-mesh canvas and are 3″ round.
Even if you don’t like the designs, you are going to love the innovative finish that uses wooden embroidery hoops and sequin tape. The site has an illustrated tutorial.
I am just crazy about them. There is no reason why you couldn’t use this idea to frame larger rounds and even ovals, if you can find the right size of hoop. You don’t need expensive hoops for this. You could even make a colored frame by wrapping the outer hoop with ribbon and gluing the ends to hold it in place.
I’m going through my pile of projects to find canvases I’ve stitched to finish this way!
